• Jennifer Borden Fleischmann, M.A.

Jennifer Borden Fleischmann is a consultant for Ideal Consulting Services in Westport, MA. Jennifer received her M.A. from Tufts University, where she studied at the Center for Reading and Language Research, a satellite center for the NICHD. She currently holds Massachusetts teaching certificates in elementary education and reading. In her role at Ideal, Jennifer works with identified schools on a weekly basis to implement the School-wide Reading Improvement Model or SRIM. Utilizing this model, Jennifer supports schools in improving reading instruction on a building level by using research-based practices and data-driven decision making. Through her work at Ideal, Jennifer also provides professional development to school districts across the state. Her areas of expertise include: DIBELS & CBM assessment (including: administration, scoring, and interpretation within a problem-solving approach), the five critical components of reading (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary & Comprehension), Targeting Skill Deficits in Struggling Readers, and Intervention Planning. Prior to working with Ideal, Jennifer worked with the Massachusetts Partnership for Achievement in Reading to support schools in their implementation of the Reading First grant. She has also worked as a Reading Specialist, classroom teacher and as a state trainer for Massachusetts BayState Readers and Reading First programs.
